This is a relatively rare but surprisingly effective system. We have been very pleased with the system and are only parting with it due to a recent upgrade. What is on offer here is a turnkey system - all ready to go. You could literally pick it up from us and go straight to a gig.
The cabinets were designed to be a high-end professional range for Celestion, and are a completely different beast from their cheaper DJ level boxes. Unfortunately the entire company was bought out, and since the new owners were only interested in raw drivers, production was stopped only months after the range was released. Hence why very few people have heard of them, and very little information turns up online. I came across this rig because a friend was involved in beta-testing for Celestion, and had the opportunity to snap up some of the remaining stock. It's done very well for us, great bang for the buck and whilst it's not exactly rider friendly we've had several Top 40 acts play through it without a word of complaint from their engineers.
The total rig is 8 slices of Cxi 822 mid-high boxes, and 6 Cxi 1811 subwoofers. They are all loaded with original Celestion drivers, and have given stalwart service. We would most often use 4 tops and 2 subs per side, which was ideal for indoor gigs up to a large town hall style venue. The additional pair of subs is helpful out of doors or if you are covering heavier dance music indoors.
The Cxi822 has two 8" drivers and a pair of 1" compression drivers, with a waveguide design. The subs are an 18" folded horn design. It's a pretty efficient design which makes a very respectable amount of noise for the amp power required.
The top cabinets have flying track which makes them easy to suspend. We have flightcases for all the top cabinets. Subs are fitted with castors, and have recently made covers. Paintwork was touched up recently. The system is powered with a pair of Yorkville AP6040 amps, with a TC Electronic controller. This configuration provides a total of 8000w of constant power, with short term burst capability of up to 14,500w. The amps are racked up (in a solid shock-mounted Amptown flightcase) with a patch panel fitted. We will also include a full package of NL4 cabling - more than enough to get everything working. There are also some rigging links which can be used to fly the top boxes.
I've had to mark this as "pick up only" because it's not going to move on a standard courier service. We are based in the centre of Glasgow and you are welcome to pick up from there, however if you're further away we will look into possibilities. We have moved similar consignments before using Shiply.com with some success. Worst case scenario we could use a pallet delivery service which wouldn't be extortionate. We could also deliver in our own van or meet you halfway somewhere. Easiest thing to do is get in touch and we can discuss the details and work out the best way of making it happen. Basically, we'll do whatever we can to help get the system to you, and we won't rip you off on carriage or delivery costs. Also, feel free to ask us anything you are wondering about this system, and we'll do our best to answer you.
This is a great rig with real potential. It gave my business a huge boost in capabilities for a very modest price, and could do the same for you. There's many years service left in the system and we'd like someone to be able to take advantage of that. It's too good to be left sitting in our warehouse doing nothing!
I always aim to ship items as quickly as possible - usually within 48hrs of receiving payment. However there are times when my work schedule can make this difficult, so please let me know if you need your item urgently. We use Parcel Broker to send shipments via a variety of couriers.
Glasgow, will arrange for collection only (no delivery).
